Govt Girls High school


Awareness programme was held in Govt Girls High school. 90 students attended the programme. A questionnaire was distributed and later facts about epilepsy, recognition of stroke, and triggers of migraine were stressed. Teachers also attended the programme and a medical camp was held later in the school premises for the children.

Awareness programme in Ved Vyasa School. Around 80 students were given a questionnaire to know the fund of knowledge in epilepsy. Later a lecture on the myths and facts of epilepsy and the first aid in epilepsy was given. Stroke signs and symptoms, the risk factors was also emphasized. Details of the trigger factors of the headache were narrated. There was a good interaction among the students.

Freemedical camp was held in Pragati charities


Free medical camp was held in Pragati charities.Children with epilepsy were examined and given free medicines.A small function as part of new year was conducted.

Painting and essay competition


Painting and essay competition was held in 6 schools and college; Sri Kasturi Devi girls high school, Srinivasa junior college, Swamidos School, Z P School, Narayana School, Netaji Pilot School.

Free medical camp was held in ranganayakulapeta.


120 patients attended the camp. free sugar screening was done for all. patients were examined and given free medications. 3 patients were not in a position to attend the camp, hence they were seen at their houses. 2 patients had stroke and were on native medicine. They were counselled for life long treatment and were advised physiotherapy

Free Medical camp was held in the outskirt of Nellore/ more than 120 patients were screened for stroke detection and prevention camp. All patients underwent a detailed questionnaire regarding their dietary habits and physical activity. Blood pressure and plasma sugars were evaluated. Height and weight was checked and their BMI was calculated grading them as normal, overweight and obese. With all these risk factors evaluation the public were counseled regarding their stroke risk according to stoke risk card. Later all patients were given a short briefing on stoke regarding its symptoms, etiology and need for risk factors identification and modification. All patients interacted and cleared their doubts at all camps. The stroke risk score and the interaction helped the public to recognize and identify stroke symptoms and risk factors. A total of 128 patinets were screened in the camp

World Stroke day was celebrated for a whole month


World Stroke day was celebrated for a whole month. The theme of 1 in 6 (Because we care) was propagated. Focusing on the theme ‘Because we care’ the emphasis was on stroke prevention by the Axon Neuro and Rehab Care, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Free medical camps were held in the hospital and also at outreach areas. A total of 5 Medical camps covering a total of > 1200 persons above 40 years were screened.
