Free epilepsy and Stroke camp. 07-02-2016


Free epilepsy and Stroke camp was held. My Mum and Dad distributed fruits along with the regular monthly medicines. Patients are doing well. Next camp scheduled on 6/3/16

Free medical camp was held in ranganayakulapeta.


120 patients attended the camp. free sugar screening was done for all. patients were examined and given free medications. 3 patients were not in a position to attend the camp, hence they were seen at their houses. 2 patients had stroke and were on native medicine. They were counselled for life long treatment and were advised physiotherapy

Free Medical camp was held in the outskirt of Nellore/ more than 120 patients were screened for stroke detection and prevention camp. All patients underwent a detailed questionnaire regarding their dietary habits and physical activity. Blood pressure and plasma sugars were evaluated. Height and weight was checked and their BMI was calculated grading them as normal, overweight and obese. With all these risk factors evaluation the public were counseled regarding their stroke risk according to stoke risk card. Later all patients were given a short briefing on stoke regarding its symptoms, etiology and need for risk factors identification and modification. All patients interacted and cleared their doubts at all camps. The stroke risk score and the interaction helped the public to recognize and identify stroke symptoms and risk factors. A total of 128 patinets were screened in the camp

Stroke risk detection camp 29th Sept 2013

Stroke risk card detection program was held in Arya Vysya Senior Citizens Association Nellore camp. Around 100 senior citizens attended the programme. A free blood Pressure, Sugar, Body mass index screened for all citizens and memory screening was done. aLater a talk on stroke with its warning signs, prevention along with interaction of the audience was done.

Mother’s Day Camp


The epilepsy association Nellore chapter holds regular epilepsy camps with free distribution of medicines at outreach areas. Free epilepsy camp was held on May 5th at Pragati Charities at Nellore. The charity has around 250 mentally challenged children. In the last camp 22 children had epilepsy (Dec 2012), now there are 28 children. It was noted that most children had hypoxic brain damage with congenital hemiplegia. It was felt that more awareness among pregnant women is required and the association plans to do the same.

Medical Camp at Aamancharla, Nellore


Nellore chapter also conducted camp in the old age home on 22nd may. The home has 38 members. Epilepsy screening was done and 2 had epilepsy, which were post stroke seizures.
